BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WJLA) – Indiana University is speaking out after it says fake flyers were found around campus mocking sexual assault.
“Sexual assault occurs when attention whores (eg: you) need extra sympathy and decide to cry raep (sic),” the flyer read in part.

The posters reportedly showed up across Indiana University’s Bloomington campus and school officials say they are not taking the matter lightly.
“Sexual assault is not a joke,” school officials tweeted.
Furthermore, the fake posters appeared to resemble posters in which the campus previously took a stand on sex and consent, according to one Twitter user.
As part of the stand the university previously took against sexual assault, the hashtag #ItsOnUsIU had been used.
“Let’s be clear: sexual assault is not a laughing matter. Sexual assault is an endemic issue facing college students nationwide, and one that we are actively trying to eradicate from our campus and community,” IU said in a statement Monday.
IU also tweeted letting students know the fake flyer would be investigated by police.
