Sugar Shack brings Harry Potter to life with Butterbeer inspired drinks and donuts

STAFFORD, Va. (ABC7) — Sugar Shack Donuts in Stafford, Virginia created a Harry Potter inspired menu that tastes almost as good as it looks!
Potterheads are going crazy for the newest creation from Sugar Shack — a Butterbeer golden snitch donut.
In the wizarding world of Harry Potter, Butterbeer is known as a butterscotch tasting drink wizards enjoy throughout the book series.
This magical donut is draped with butterscotch tasting frosting with gold star sprinkles, topped with a golden glazed donut hole with fondant wings to represent a golden snitch.
The gold snitch represents the small golden ball wizards use to play the sport Quidditch in the Harry Potter series.
With the influence of the Alexandria store, who first created the Butterbeer donut, the Stafford location went on their own and created a different recipe for their Butterbeer drink and donut.
“The Alexandria store dreamt it, and we ran with the idea,” Roberta Pacheco, manager of the Stafford Sugar Shack told us.
Butterbeer donuts aren’t the only Harry Potter inspired creation on the Stafford menu. They also have drinks!
“To go along with the Butterbeer donuts, we created the Butterbeer inspired drinks, hot or cold, that we custom make at our shop,” Stafford’s donut designer Maggie Horning told us.
The Stafford Sugar Shack is currently the only Sugar Shack location where you can purchase the Butterbeer drink.
Besides the Harry Potter treats, the shop’s donut designer says she has made many elaborate donut creations, including pirate ships, wedding donuts, and even unicorn inspired 12-inch donut cakes,
Horning says the shop creates custom flavors and designs upon request.
“We can do any donut designs you’d like, and we also do any flavor requests,” she told ABC7, “We have come up with all sorts of creations.”
Sugar Shack Donuts recommends calling your local shop to pre-order the Butterbeer creation before it’s sold out.
The Butterbeer drinks and donuts will be available until the end of October, but Sugar Shack says if you call a day ahead they will make a batch for you.
